I am struggling to shake a cold that has been hanging on from early December….seems like everyone I know either has this cold or is coming down with it. I have spent the last week sewing like crazy to catch up on unfinished projects. I received three bee envelopes in the mail on Tuesday, putting me even further behind.
Today I finished my block for Sara in the Journal Round Robin Bee. This is it:
The pattern is called Spinnaker. It is one of my favorite compass patterns. Sara asked for a compass block made from Bali Batiks. I would not have thought to use batiks for a compass but the result is very pretty. The blocks have a stained glass appearance.
Here is Sara’s group of blocks so far:
Lots of variety in size, shape and color combinations. I am sure it will be a striking quilt when it is finished.
Back to the sewing room to do some more catching up!
Absolutely gorgeous!!! Where did you find the pattern if you don’t mind me asking.
Joan, that is incredible. Love it! Hope you get feeling better quickly!! 🙂
it’s beautiful – i love compass patterns and that one’s a cracker
That block for Sara is stunning. Can’t wait to see the finished quilt.
Hang in there, the crude eventually goes away. (I’m just starting it, so remind me in a week or two. 🙂
Linda G – The pattern is in my Electric Quilt software. It is paper-pieced. If you would like the paper-piecing pattern, I can email it to you in a PDF file. Just let me know what size block you would like. You can email me at Caliquilter@yahoo.com. 🙂
